Condensation dripping from a ceiling vent can have detrimental effects on the ceiling material surrounding the vent as well as carpeting and furnishings sitting under the vent.
The proper insulation in the air conditioner vent will prevent the condensation from forming since the warm and moist air will not come in contact with the vent.
